Chris Rene’s performance on the first episode of The X Factor live shows was amazing. He sang Madonna’s “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore”. While I think they could have picked a different song for Chris he put his spin on it and made it his own.

Santa Cruz pop singer Chris Rene continued his pursuit of James Durbin-like success on Fox’s “The X Factor” on Tuesday, by making the cut for the show’s top 12 performers.
On the final of night of the Judges Houses episodes of The X Factor Chris Rene picked “People Everyday” as the song he would audition for LA Reid and Rihanna. The song was from Arrested Developments 1992 debut album “3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life Of…”. LA and Rihanna really seemed to enjoy it, Reid even calling Chris “one of the special ones”.

The story of how Chris Rene ended up as one of the 17 finalists on Fox’s new talent show “The X Factor” began sometime last spring.
Rene, a talented singer who had been working as a Santa Cruz trash collector, was walking down the street one day when he spied a front-page story in a newspaper on the success of another singer, Santa Cruzan James Durbin, on Fox’s “American Idol.”
